Dr. Sally A. Peyman is an Associate Professor in microfluidic bioengineering at Heriot-Watt University within the Institute of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Bioengineering. Her research focuses on microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip technologies for biomedical applications, integrating the fields of biophysics, bioengineering, and medicine. She is particularly interested in modelling human diseases using bespoke organ-on-chip devices, with an emphasis on recreating the microenvironment of solid tumours and vasculature-on-chip to enhance the testing of new drug delivery routes. Her additional research interests include microbubble-assisted drug delivery, single-cell analysis, and clinical diagnostics.
